Team Testimonials

Tony Spillane – Head of Training

“On my 1st day as a Fundraiser I arrived at the Total Fundraising Offices feeling very nervous and not knowing what to expect in the role as a result of my own experience of avoiding charity fundraisers in the past. It didn’t take long to settle as the team I worked with really helped me to relax, and offered great support which has led to some great friendships as a result. The one thing I like about Total Fundraising is the opportunities within the company. Within my first month, I was promoted to Team Leader and shortly after that to Senior Team Leader which opened up more opportunities for me. This was an exciting and challenging role and I developed many communication and leadership skills from this.

When I was employed just under a year I was promoted to Trainer. Six months afterwards due to the growth of the company I was promoted to Head of Training. This is an exciting opportunity as it allows me to pass the skills and knowledge that I have gained in my time here and help to develop the future fundraisers of tomorrow.”

Amy O Kane – Trainer

“When I started in Total Fundraising, I was apprehensive about what to expect. The industry is without a doubt a challenging one and I was nervous about succeeding. However, I settled in very quickly, and began to enjoy my role as fundraiser. What I liked most about being a fundraiser is the fact that every day is different and the constant change of scene is refreshing. The camaraderie between team members was very strong, and I quickly developed some strong friendships. Within a matter of weeks I was promoted to team leader, and further down the line, senior team leader. My confidence and communication skills developed hugely as I progressed, and also I learned the value of determination and working as part of a team.

The company offers great opportunities to those who put their hands up for them, which I have benefited from immensely. After working 14 months with Total Fundraising I was promoted to Trainer and Six months after that I have also took up the role of Events Co-ordinator, an exciting and challenging position that I thoroughly enjoy.”

Darren Brown – Coach

“I started working for Total Fundraising in February 2010. I had little experience of door to door sales, as my main background is plumbing and working in the automotive industry. I understood from the first day of training that with hard work and dedication to the company, many opportunities would arise. My motivation was to provide for my family and to ensure that I demonstrated to the company my willingness to learn and progress. Within two weeks of my starting, I was promoted to Team Leader and given more responsibility by organising my own team of fundraisers. The added bonus of a company car and phone came with this title. Even though the responsibility was at times testing and challenging, I always managed to influence the team and get the job at hand done in an efficient and professional manner,

I have also taken great satisfaction knowing that many of the fundraisers on my team have gone on to become successful team leaders and taken up various roles within Total Fundraising. Every day is varied, every door is different, however, finding the positive people who want to support the charities we represent is both rewarding and uplifting.

After 7 months I was promoted to Coach. I was delighted to be given this opportunity as it showed me that Total Fundraising is willing to reward those who work hard to achieve their goals. Total Fundraising is a great company to work for, as it is constantly growing, diverse and always improving on the high standards they have already set in the fundraising world.”

Eddie Connolly – Coach

“I have been employed by Total Fundraising since October 2009 I joined total fundraising after a varied background in banking and construction. I joined a team of Fundraisers and pretty soon I knew I was part of a great company. After a few weeks I was given the opportunity to progress to leading a team of my own followed by a senior Team Leader position. I got to see this beautiful country whilst helping many great charities.

In September 2010 I was promoted to coach which has given me the opportunity to guide others to success whilst maintaining my work generating donors. Total Fundraising also has an open door policy where they welcome and encourage all staff to share their ideas and views so they can take on board and constantly learn as they are growing. So why not come join us and pretty soon you will be part of something special too”.

Niamh Ferris – Recruitment Executive

I began working with Total Fundraising at the beginning of 2010, in less than a year I have progressed from Fundraiser to Team Leader to Recruitment Executive.

I had just graduated from college a few months when I started as a Fundraiser and really wanted to start making a career for myself.  Working as a Fundraiser was the hardest I have ever worked and also the most fun I have ever had in a job.  I really enjoyed working with my team and we got to travel Ireland together – nothing better than a road trip, having the craic and making money.  Working in Total Fundraising really shows you that the harder you work the more benefits you will reap – from earning bonuses to being promoted to Team Leader within two months you really get great satisfaction from a days work.  The working environment both in and outside the office is fast paced, dynamic and fun.  Every day has something different.  I am thoroughly enjoying my role and see a bright career ahead with Total Fundraising.

Neil O Connor – Recruitment Co-ordinator

“I started working with Total Fundraising as a fundraiser in February 2009. I was attracted initially by the chance to make a difference to great causes and to do a job I would be proud of. Of course it was great to be able to make some pretty decent money while doing it as well!

I was also aware that there were team leader opportunities and I was very keen to make some progress through the ranks. Little did I know how soon I would get that opportunity though!
